Sristi KC is Vice-Chair and Fellow at AIFAR. Also the founder and Chair of Blind Rocks!, Ms KC is a living testament to the power of resilience and determination. Despite facing the adversity of losing her sight to Glaucoma at the age of 16, Sristi refused to let it hinder her dreams. Instead, she embraced her new reality and emerged as an inspiring force for change.
Ms KC's academic accomplishments further underscore her unwavering commitment to excellence. She has earned gold medals in both her Intermediate and Bachelor level studies, demonstrating her intellectual prowess and dedication to her education. Driven by her deep passion for the arts, Sristi pursued her Master's degree in Dance Practice, Knowledge, and Heritage through the esteemed Choreomundus program. This unique academic journey led her to study in Norway, France, Hungary, and the UK, enriching her understanding of dance as a powerful tool for cultural expression and social transformation. Through her Master's thesis, titled "Empowerment and Emancipation of Blind and Visually Impaired Individuals through Dance," Ms KC made a significant academic contribution to advancing the empowerment and emancipation of the blind and visually impaired community. Her research shed new light on the transformative potential of dance as a powerful tool for fostering empowerment and liberation among individuals facing visual challenges.
In 2012, Ms KC embarked on a transformative journey by participating in a leadership course for social visionaries at Kanthari International in Kerala, India. This experience has shaped her perspective and fuelled her passion for making a difference in society. Today, she continues to collaborate with Kanthari International as a visiting catalyst, inspiring and empowering others to overcome challenges and create positive social impact.
As a motivational speaker, dancer, and trainer, Sristi has taken her message of resilience and empowerment to over 20 countries. Her captivating speeches, expressive dance performances, and transformative training sessions have touched the hearts and minds of audiences around the world. Through these endeavors, she tirelessly advocates for social change and inclusivity.
Ms KC's outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication have earned her numerous accolades and awards. Among them are the prestigious Outstanding Communication Award 2022, Woman of Courage Award 2020, Game Changer Award 2020, and WOW - Women Achievers in Social Activism 2018. She has also been recognized by the Youth Ministry of Nepal, receiving the National Youth Award in 2016 and the Youth Excellence Award in 2013 from Kerala, India.
